Hey everyone, and welcome to my blog! I'm going to be sharing with you the top 10 Telegram hidden features you might not know about,  Telegram is a popular messaging app that's known for its speed, security, and features. But even if you're a longtime Telegram user, there are probably a few features you're unaware of.

Feature 1: Scheduled and Silent messages

One of the coolest Telegram features is the ability to schedule messages and send silent messages. This is great for sending messages to people in different time zones or when you don't want to disturb them.

To schedule a message, simply type out your message and then long-press on the send button. This will give you the option to schedule the message for a later time.

To send a silent message, simply type out your message, then long-press on the send button, then select the option of “Send without sound”. This will send the message without making a notification sound on the recipient's device.

Feature 2: Custom themes

Telegram also allows you to customize the look of the app with custom themes. There are thousands of free and paid themes available to choose from.

To change your theme, go to Settings > Chat Settings > Browse Themes. You can also create a new theme with your own customizations.

Feature 3: Edit or replace sent pictures

This is yet another cool Telegram feature. If you have sent somebody a picture that you wanted to edit or add a caption to, or you sent the wrong picture. No worries, telegram can help yo in this.

All you need to do is long-press the sent photo, then tap on the pencil icon at the top. Here you can do all the things that you want to. You can edit your picture, replace it, or add a caption to it.

Feature 4: Chat folders

Chat folders is a new Telegram feature that allows you to organize your chats into different folders. This is a great way to keep your chats organized and easy to find.

To create a chat folder, go to Settings > scroll down a bit and tap on Chat Folders just below the power saving option.

Feature 5: Live location sharing & proximity alerts

Telegram also allows you to share your live location with others and receive proximity alerts when someone is nearby. To share your live location, go to a chat> tap on the attachment icon >select Location>then “Share my Live Location”.  You will be able to send live locations for either 15 minutes, 1 hour or 8 hours.

Once both parties have shared their live locations with each other, they can set proximity alerts. All they have to do is, tap on each other’s Live Location tile in the chat, then tap on the notification bell to select at what distance they wish to be notified of each other’s presence.

Feature 6: Hidden messages and secret chats

Telegram offers two great ways to keep your messages private: hidden messages and secret chats. Just make sure that you are using the updated version of the Telegram app.

Hidden messages include sending hidden texts, images, and videos.

To send a hidden text, type your desired text, then before sending it, long-press it to select all, then select the “spoiler” option. The text is now hidden. Then press send. The recipient will be able to read it once they tap on it.

For sending hidden images and videos, just come to the chat and tap on the “attachment” icon. Now select the images or videos that you want to send, then tap on the 3 dots and select “Hide with spoiler”. Now press the send button. Again the recipient will be able to view it once they tap on it.

Secret chats are end-to-end encrypted chats that can only be accessed on the devices they were started on.

To start a secret chat, go to Contacts > New Secret Chat and select the contact with which you want to initiate the secret chat. A separate window will be created for this chat that is apart from the regular chat’s window.

Feature 7: Telegram bots

Telegram bots are automated programs that can perform a variety of tasks, such as providing news, translating languages, and playing games. There are thousands of Telegram bots available, and you can even create your own.

To find Telegram bots, go to Search and then type in the required bots names. Alternatively, you can explore these resources to find many useful telegram bots.

Telegram also allows you to save messages for later. This is a great way to keep track of important messages or to share them with others.

To save a message, simply long-press it, then forward it to "Saved Messages". All your saved messages will appear at the top of your telegram chats.

You can also access them from here (hamburger menu > "Saved Messages")

Feature 9: Slow mode for group admins

Slow mode is a Telegram feature that allows group admins to limit the number of messages that can be sent within a given time period. This is a great way to reduce spam and keep chats organized.

Once a group admin enables Slow Mode, members will have to wait a certain amount of time between sending messages. This ranges from 10 seconds to one hour.

To enable slow mode, enter your group chat, tap on the name of the group at the top, then tap the pencil icon, then select Permissions. Here you can enable "Slow Mode".

Feature 10: Multiple accounts

Telegram allows you to use multiple accounts on the same device. This is a great way to separate your personal and professional messages. To add a new account,

  1. Launch Telegram and tap the three horizontal lines in the top-left corner.
  2. Tap the arrow next to your name and select "Add Account."
  3. Enter your phone number and tap the arrow.
  4. Enter the one-time password (OTP) and your second account will be added to the same Telegram app, without the need to create another app.

Conclusion

These are just a few of the many hidden features that Telegram has to offer. With so many features, Telegram is a truly powerful messaging app. If you're not already using Telegram, I highly recommend checking it out.
